All Things Worthwhile
In 1916, Ivy Mattson (nee Pinchbeck) immigrated to Canada, and eventually married Oscar Mattson in 1936. As pioneers, they would establish their original homestead, now commemorated by a heritage marker on the property that is home to all things Worthwhile.
Worthwhile Farms, initiated in 2022 by Derrick (& Bronson) Knapp, aims to reclaim this ancestral land and foster sustainability alongside active, experiential learning.
Worthwhile Living would subsequently emerge as a place to learn and share in co-creation, and locally derived essentials, providing locally grown food and "maker" products. Educating consumers about food sources is facilitated through events like Alberta Open Farm Days. Visitors witness ethical and sustainable practices, from animal care to garden cultivation and wind energy utilization for a more environmentally conscious operation.
